Susan Jungman, LPC
Susan Jungman, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York. She received a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University, NY and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Hofstra University, NY. Susan offers both in-person and telehealth therapy at A New Beginning.
Susan specializes in the treatment of trauma and eating disorders. She believes in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship and the relationship to “Self” – as experienced through connection, curiosity, compassion, clarity, courage, creativity, and calmness. Susan is an Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist and certified in EMDR. Susan also uses mindfulness, DBT, and CBT, and enjoys using music, yoga, and art as tools to aid in healing. Susan’s personal experience with an eating disorder allows her to provide hope that “full recovery is possible”.

Prior to running her private practice, Susan was the Program Director for an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Eating Disorders. Susan trained and worked collaboratively with Dr. Jeffrey DeSarbo, Eating Disorder Psychiatrist, offering the only physician-owned IOP in the New York area. Susan was responsible for individual, group and family therapy sessions. Susan developed the program structure and managed all administrative duties for the IOP. Susan was also the President of Reaching Out Against Eating Disorders, a non-profit organization that provided information, education, a mentor program, and free Eating Disorder Support Groups.
Susan is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals and the Academy of Eating Disorders. She also belongs to the American Counseling Association and the National Board for Certified Counselors.
