Treatment for Overeating & Emotional Eating

Arizona’s most respected
team of psychological and nutritional specialists.

Using food to cope with feelings? Let us help you find new ways to feel better.

Many of us turn to food for comfort during stress, sadness, boredom, or overwhelm. But when this becomes your standard go-to for managing the many difficulties of life, you may be struggling with Overeating or Emotional Eating.

While not diagnosable eating disorders, overeating and emotional eating can still cause significant distress and self-loathing. You may feel out of control around food, struggle with guilt, or wonder why you keep repeating the same patterns even though you “know better.”

You Are Not Alone: Help for Overeating & Emotional Eating

Our team has worked with hundreds of people, just like you. People who, for decades, have used food as their emotional “lifeline.” Together, we explore the emotional triggers and unmet needs, and help you develop ways to nourish yourself emotionally without turning to food and self-sabotaging.

Learning how to address and work through your normal feelings and emotions, and looking at the factors that have led you to rely solely on food as a means to emotionally cope, is such an integral part of successfully ending your excessive use of food.

While this may sound overwhelming at first, we promise you it’s not. Many times, people are simply not taught basic ways of responding to their feelings and emotions in a positive manner early in life and, as you get older, you are still at a loss as to how to effectively connect with, respond to, and support yourself through normal, spontaneous feelings associated with the many ups and downs of life!

Depending on your personal story, we offer several different ways to help you: individual therapy, nutrition therapy, couple therapy, and/or family therapy. Your treatment provider will work alongside you to determine which service(s) will be most beneficial for you.

The important thing to know is that you are not alone. You are not supposed to know how to do all of this right now on your own. And, we are here to help you in a compassionate, non-judgmental, and effective way! Our team at A New Beginning are experts in the psychological and nutritional treatment of overeating and emotional eating, and we are here to support you on your recovery journey.
